Workshop Cancellations
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds, if you make a cancellation or do not attend a class. However, if you are unable to attend a class, course or workshop, you may transfer your booking to a family member or friend. If you wish to do this, you must inform us in advanced by emailing [email protected].
If in the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to bad weather, or other uncontrollable events, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).
In fairness to all of our customers we are unable to make exceptions to our policy, including for reasons of illness, travel, or work hours. If you are unable to attend a workshop at the last minute, we suggest giving your spot to a relative or friend!

A follow on from Sewing Machine Know How. Suitable for those with little experience who want to grow in confidence. Can thread a sewing machine!
This course will help you understand, how the machine works, what fabrics to choose, seam allowances, taking measurements, choosing a commercial pattern, Linings and sewing techniques.
What's Included?
WEEK 1: Practice using a sewing machine, threading the machine, adjust the tension, wind on the bobbin. Practice sewing using different stitches. Build your confidence using the functions of the sewing machine. Seam allowances, sewing straight lines, curves and corners. Using a simple pattern, cut out and put together a simple Envelope Cushion Cover.
WEEK 2: Practice the skills learned in session 1 and move on to sew your very own Tote bag. Great for carrying your sewing supplies and shopping.
WEEK 3: Progress to making a lined Fabric box and see the magic of bagging out the lining of an item.
WEEK 4: Finally, learn how to insert a zip without fear when you sew a Zipped pouch/pencil case, perfect for carrying around makeup or storing your pens and pencils.
What you'll need to bring?
CUSHION: 1-meter non-stretch woven fabric. Cushion inner 41cmx 41cm and 1 button 20mm
TOTE: 1-meter non-stretch woven fabric medium/heavyweight fabric
FABRIC BOX: 1/2 meter non-stretch woven fabric medium/heavy and1/2 meter medium weight woven fabric to use as a lining
ZIPPER POUCH: 1/2 meter non-stretch woven fabric medium/heavy, 1/2 meter medium weight woven fabric to use as a lining and 1 standard zip, minimum length 8"/20cm
TOOLS LIST: scissors, pins, tape measure, seam ripper, chalk /marker
